One of the larger Apple Pay holdouts, Kroger, is debuting its new mobile payment option today in Columbus and Colorado, with a nationwide rollout by the end of the year. The grocery chain continues to resist Apple Pay, instead going with a QR code-based Kroger Pay system. As reported by local news station WCPO, Kroger has announced a single-use QR-based system called Kroger Pay. The QR code can be scanned during checkout to pay for your groceries and access your loyalty card....

A prankster has been banned from AMC Theatres for posting a fake flyer claiming that Joker screenings have a “No Singles Allowed” policy. It’s a joke that’s almost believable, considering the heightened concerns around the release of the movie. Landmark Theatres banned makeup and costumes from Joker screenings, and in some major cities there was an increased police presence in anticipation of the movie possibly inspiring a mass shooter. Marvel head Kevin Feige teased that Marvel may release an Infinity Saga box set that will include some deleted “bad” scenes. The Infinity Saga refers to the 23 movies that make up the whole of the Infinity War storyline in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first movie in the series is Iron-Man, which premiered in 2008. In a report on Monday, Bitdefender’s Martin Zugec wrote that he saw attacks on Sunday against systems running the Windows operating system. These attacks were attempting to deploy Khonsari. Zugec told ZDNet that Khonsari is relatively new ransomware and is considered basic – compared to the sophistication of professional ransomware-as-a-service groups. “Most likely, it is a threat actor experimenting with this new attack vector. However, that doesn’t mean that more advanced actors are not looking at exploiting the Log4j vulnerability; they most assuredly are,” Zugec explained....

DreamWorksTV releases a full-length Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts trailer. Created by Radford Sechrist, the animated Netflix series was originally teased in June 2019 with a 60-second clip. DreamWorksTV unveiled the official Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts trailer. Judge Lucy Koh ruled earlier today that Apple would not be able to recover the roughly $16 million in legal fees incurred while suing Samsung for patent infringement, according to a new report. Apple would have had to prove to the court that the case was exception in order to recover the legal costs, which Koh said it had failed to do. BBC America renews Killing Eve for season 3. Based on Luke Jennings’s Codename Villanelle novella series, the drama stars Sandra Oh, who earned a Prime Emmy Award nomination for her season 1 performance. Killing Eve season 2 premiered on April 7. On Killing Eve, Oh portrays Eve Polastri, an MI5 agent tracking down an assassin named Oksana Astankova aka Villanelle (Jodie Comer). Killing Eve season 1 premiered in April 2018 and concluded its initial eight-episode run last May....

In addition to what to expect from Apple this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also outlined what could be on the table for Apple in 2021.
