KGI continues to double-down on its claims on what the 2018 iPhone lineup will comprise. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will apparently resemble the iPhone X with a similar full-screen design, but at a more accessible price for customers; the analyst expects this new iPhone to be priced to replace iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, as cheap as $699. The LCD 6.1-inch iPhone will use slightly less premium components, such as an aluminium frame instead of stainless steel....

SYFY has canceled Krypton shortly after airing its season 2 finale. The Superman prequel series was a big hit for the genre-oriented cable network, with the series premiere posting some of the cabler’s biggest ratings in years. The series was also largely well received by audiences and critics alike, earning praise for its ability to overcome problems typically associated with prequel stories, and for its strong cast, which included Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Blake Ritson, Ian McElhinney, and Colin Salmon, as inhabitants of the doomed planet that would one day be the home of the universe’s greatest hero....

Apple has seen strong sales of its first 5G iPhone lineup, the iPhone 12 series. All iPhones today use custom Apple silicon for their CPU/GPU and such, but the cellular modem is external and manufactured by Qualcomm. For a while, it has been reported that Apple is developing its own in-house 5G modem. The rumored timelines on when this work will be complete have varied. Today, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that he expects Apple to include its 5G modem with the 2023 iPhone ‘at the earliest’....

When Jordan Peele first announced that his directorial debut would be a horror film, audiences were confused. Less than an hour before Apple’s WWDC keynote kicks off, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared some news that the company would be keeping its paid online events free for creators through 2023. Notably, the platform is also going to start showing Apple’s fees as a line item for Facebook creators’ earnings with Zuckerberg using the opportunity to once again criticize the 30% App Store cut. Conveniently timed right before Apple’s WWDC starts today, Zuckerberg shared the news in a Facebook post (via The Verge)....

Justice League’s Snyder Cut has better-looking CGI than the version released in theaters. Much has been made about the Snyder Cut’s status in terms of VFX completion, yet when comparing the two cuts, it’s clear Zack Snyder’s version is visually far superior. It’s been well chronicled that the VFX of Justice League is not 100% done, but some of it is complete (or close to complete) and a number of screenshots of the film released by Zack Snyder on the social media platform Vero, outshine the garish and unpolished visuals of Joss Whedon’s theatrical cut....

A Joker movie sequel, with Joaquin Phoenix returning as the Clown Prince of Crime, could happen according to director Todd Phillips. In the past few years, Warner Bros. and DC Films have largely focused on a franchise of movies set within one universe - kicked off with Man of Steel and continuing through the likes of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Aquaman. While that franchise, called the DC Extended Universe by fans, is continuing on, the studio is also releasing movies set in other universes, like Phillips’ Joker....

Following the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4 yesterday at Steve Jobs Theater, Apple’s Chief Design Officer Jony Ive offered his thoughts on the future of wearable technology and what drives him and the entire design team to continue pushing the Apple Watch ahead.
