A massive rumour broke the other week, positing that EA’s Bioware Austin studio was working on a revamp of one of its most beloved video games, Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic (also known as KotOR). This, combined with a recent revelation in Star Wars Rebels that certain events from the classic game are still considered canon, made fans of KotOR very excited indeed. Sadly, it’s since been stated that the rumour of a KotOR remake of some sort was just a fabrication, and that no such project is currently on the cards....

With the new iPhones set to be unveiled in three days from now, TF Securities Ming-Chi Kuo released a report this weekend detailing the analyst’s expectations for relative demand of the four models. Josh Brolin is sharing a first look – sort of – of his character Cable for Deadpool 2. The superhero movie world was all abuzz last week when 20th Century Fox announced that Brolin was cast in the coveted role of Cable in Ryan Reynold’s hotly anticipated sequel to the 2016 blockbuster Deadpool. Apple has settled a long-running class action lawsuit by workers that accused the company along with Google and other tech companies of entering illegal non-poaching agreements. Associated Press reports that a judge has given the green light to a $415 million settlement after rejecting an earlier settlement as inadequate. Judge Lucy Koh had rejected an earlier settlement offer, saying it didn’t offer enough compensation to about 64,000 workers affected by the case....

A new report from Bloomberg today stated the U.K. Court of Appeal in London asked Apple to remove the apology to Samsung posted on its U.K. website and replace it with “a new notice acknowledging the inaccurate comments” in the next 24 hours. Earlier this month, Apple complied with U.K. court orders that forced the company to post an apology explaining Samsung did not copy the iPad’s design. The court’s issue with the apology was four extra paragraphs that Apple inserted with favorable quotes from the initial ruling that described Samsung’s tablet as “not as cool”:...

Key Apple supplier Pegatron has been caught in labor violations which breach its contract with the Cupertino company. Apple has responded by banning the company from all new contracts pending resolution of the problem. Apple said that Pegatron not only violated the US company’s rules, but did so knowingly, going to ‘extraordinary lengths’ to hide what it had done … Bloomberg reports that students were allowed to work overtime and nights, which is a clear breach of Apple’s labor rules....

KGI Securities is out with a new report offering fresh predictions for the upcoming iPhone launch expected as soon as next month. KGI expects Apple will announce all three new iPhones (4.7-inch LCD, 5.5-inch LCD, 5.8-inch OLED) in September and launch at the same time after previously believing the OLED iPhone could arrive later. Despite debuting simultaneously, KGI predicts the OLED iPhone will be severely supply constrained at launch… The report expects mass production will start for the OLED iPhone in mid-September rather than mid- to late-October as previously believed, but only 2-4 million units or less are expected to be available during the third quarter of the year....

The Blu-ray packaging for Knives Out accidentally spoils the identity of the killer. Released in November 2019, Knives Out was written and directed by Rian Johnson. The film was a modern take on the classic murder mystery genre, with the character of Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) hired to investigate the death of a wealthy crime novelist named Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer).
