Update #2: Apple’s statement reads, “It is a fact that Samsung blatantly copied our design. We’re grateful to the jury for their service and are pleased they agree Samsung should pay for copying our products.” Update: An additional $5.3 million was awarded to Apple for Samsung’s infringement on two utility patents. Knives Out passes another box office milestone even though it’s currently available on Digital. The latest movie from writer/director Rian Johnson hit theaters last November, quickly becoming a breakout hit over the Thanksgiving frame. Usually I download the complete Windows Driver Kit from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11800 as can be seen on the picture below. After downloading and installing WDK, the WinDbg will be located in the C:WinDDK folder as seen on the picture below. At this point we can start windbg.exe and pin it to the taskbar, so we can easily start/stop it. This must be done on the host virtual machine, where we’ll be debugging from....

Jay Blahnik, a globally recognized fitness expert and instrumental consultant in the development of several Nike fitness products, has confirmed his new role at Apple. In July, we reported on unconfirmed whispers out of the fitness industry that Blahnik had been hired at Apple, likely to work on the iWatch. There’s a new Kingdom Hearts mobile game in the works for 2020, and it’s going to follow the sinister Master Xehanort. Square Enix has just announced a new title, code-named Project Xehanort, which will follow the titular character’s journey to becoming the main antagonist of the long-running crossover series. Earlier reports indicated that Square Enix would be putting out a new spin-off in its popular Disney/Final Fantasy mash-up franchise sooner rather than later, with the series’ Japanese social media account teasing that such a game would be coming “surprisingly soon....

There are many home security systems out there, but the reason why Korner has been created is that most of them don’t come at affordable prices. Korner isn’t very sophisticated, but it seems to be performing its job quite well. The name of the system has been chosen because of the of the tag which gets attached to your door’s or window’s corner. It’s different than other devices not just by shape but because it uses a combination of sensors which allows for a one-piece design instead of two-piece sensors....

The season 2 finale of Krypton reveals that Brainiac (Blake Ritson) plans to make Jor-El the new Superman. Jor-El, son of Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) and the future father of Superman, was kidnapped in episode 7 - presumably because of Brainiac’s interest in the House of El’s bloodline. After Seg and Nyssa (Wallis Day) succeeded in getting Brainiac out of his head, Nyssa decided that she wanted to change the name of their son, Cor-Vex, because she no longer wanted him to be associated with the “Vex” family name....

As part of a sweeping report released today, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the long-rumored Apple AR/VR headset will feature as many as fifteen cameras. Previously, Kuo has said that he expects the headset to arrive in 2022, priced around $1000. Long term, Apple is believed to be developing discrete augmented reality glasses. However, these will not be ready for several years. In the meantime, Apple is preparing to launch a headset device, similar to the Valve Index and HTC Vive Pro....

Reuters reports that the U.S. Government versus Apple eBooks collusion trial is set for June 3, 2013. The U.S. Government’s lawsuit is also against publishers Macmillan and Penguin Group, but not against the other three publishers (HarperCollins Publishers, Simon & Schuster, and Hachette Book Group) involved in the case. These publishers have already agreed to separately settle with the government. The lawsuit claims that Apple conspired with publishers to raise eBook prices, but Apple and these publishers deny this, instead saying that they have increased demand for eBooks and eBook readers....

Kamcord, the mobile gameplay recording platform that offers developers an easy way to implement cross-platform gameplay recording and sharing features, is today announcing its next big push in mobile gaming: competitions. The company realized that its SDK provides a lot of unique opportunities for app developers interested in hosting competitions or tournament-style contests, so it’s now working with some to host competitive gaming events in their apps. First up: SEGA. For its first big collaboration on an in-app gaming competition (it held a smaller test recently with developer Pixowl) Kamcord has teamed up with SEGA, which just started using the gameplay recording platform in a version of its popular Crazy Taxi City Rush title yesterday....

Ming-Chi Kuo today released a report claiming that Apple will bring back Touch ID fingerprint recognition to its iPhones starting in 2021. The analyst said that he believes Apple will release an iPhone with both Face ID and under-display Touch ID fingerprint biometrics. Kuo says that over the next 18 months, a lot of technical issues will be resolved which will enable Apple to deliver the high-tier experience it strives for in its devices....

Joseph Staten has been involved in some big Microsoft exclusives before. He was part of the team that helped develop and launch Halo 3. Coincidentally, that game was released with a bonus on its disc - a demo of Crackdown that was too big to offer for download at the time. Microsoft bundled the two games together to help increase the reach of Crackdown, and ever since, Staten’s career has been at least tangentially related to the game, even if it has been in his peripheral vision at times....
