In a new report out this morning from noted analyst Ming-Chi Quo at KGI Securities, we find the size of the new iPad form factor, expected in Q2 still in flux indicating that Apple may still be deciding between different sizes. Perhaps most interesting for AAPL stockholders is the psychological impact of iPad sales leveling off and greater ASP… Kuo still expects numbers to be down slightly year over year but the higher ASP to make up for that in revenues....

In June, Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple would launch three new iPhones in 2020, two of which would feature 5G connectivity. In a followup to the same report today, Kuo now says that all three iPhone models will support fast 5G cellular data. The 2020 iPhones are expected to feature significant redesigns compared to the current lineup, coming in new 6.7-inch, 5.4-inch, and 6.1-inch screen sizes. Kuo said that the Intel modem business acquisition means Apple now has more resources to support 5G on more models sooner....

Warner Bros. has been off to a bit of a rocky start with the mixed reception to its first three shared movies, but this year sees two films that look to move past that: Wonder Woman and Justice League. Ming-Chi Kuo had already predicted that the first ARM Mac will arrive as soon as the fourth quarter of this year. Unsurprisingly, Kuo says that even more Macs will transition to ARM in 2021 and beyond, including desktop machines, with Apple adopting an “aggressive processor-replacement strategy”. Presumably, Apple will start with a lower-end laptop form factor and slowly work its way up the line. Kuo says that replacing Intel with ARM CPUs of Apple’s own design will bring significant cost savings as well as the expected performance and battery life gains....

Earlier today, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo published a new investor note outlining Apple’s plans for AR and VR products over the next several. The note also included one tidbit about Apple’s long-term plans: augmented reality contact lenses potentially coming within the next decade. Kuo outlined two near-term predictions for Apple: an AR/VR headset in 2022 and AR glasses in 2025. Then, between 2030 and 2040, Kuo says Apple could release contact lenses with augmented reality features....
