A new Muppets series from Josh Gad is reportedly coming to streaming service Disney Plus. Back in 2004, the Mouse House added Jim Henson’s beloved puppet characters to their ever-growing media empire, with the hopes of revitalizing the brand and introducing the franchise to a new generation of fans. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as smoothly there - especially when compared to some of Disney’s other high-profile acquisitions. 2011 film The Muppets was a critical and commercial hit, but sequel Muppets Most Wanted saw diminishing returns and a TV show on ABC lasted only a single season....

The campaign for the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League has begun to see noticeable support from detractors of Zack Snyder’s past superhero films. In the wake of a family tragedy, Snyder stepped down from directing duties on Justice League, while Warner Bros. brought in Joss Whedon to direct major reshoots. Although the studio asserted that these were only intended to complete the film as Snyder had envisioned, upon the movie’s release in November 2017, it became clear that the version of Justice League that had arrived in theaters was not what Zack Snyder had intended....

The film is unconnected to Warner Bros. ongoing DCEU franchise, and is instead the one-off story of Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix. A mentally ill clown-for-hire, Joker sees Fleck grow more and more out of touch with reality over the course of the story, leading to murderous results....

iPad versus Tab 10.1 (Credit: AnandTech) As relayed by Reuters, a judge has blocked Samsung’s request for a lift of the recently placed injunction on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. This ruling follows last week’s ruling in which an injunction was placed on the Android tablet. Apple posted a $2.6 million bond to put last week’s injunction into action. While the rejection of a lift on the Tab 10.1 injunction is notable, this likely won’t affect Samsung too much as the company has already released new tablets and a successor to the banned touchscreen multimedia computer....

Downton Abbey wouldn’t be the worldwide phenomenon that it is without the brilliant mind of Julian Fellowes behind the wheel. The acclaimed writer and producer helmed the show for five seasons on ITV before bringing the story to life on the big screen last year, delighting audiences all over again. Jurassic Park has been reimagined as a Fyre Fest documentary. The real-life festival spawned two documentaries simultaneously on Netflix and Hulu, and the connections the festival has to Jurassic Park are surprisingly similar. In January, Netflix and Hulu released documentaries of their own about the same subject: the failed Fyre Music Festival from CEO Billy McFarland. Both documentaries feature the story behind McFarland’s failed attempt to create a luxury music festival that ultimately led to class action lawsuits and a six-year prison sentence for McFarland....

Jurassic World Evolution is returning to Jurassic Park! The hit business/park simulation game from the makers of the recent Planet Zoo are bring players back to 1993 to where it all started - the original Jurassic Park - with new DLC that releases December 10th, and features original cast members Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). Like many other characters in Justice League, Lex Luthor’s role in the movie saw its own set of alterations. Following Zack Snyder’s departure from the superhero ensemble in the wake of a family tragedy, Justice League underwent a series of reshoots that drastically altered the film from what the director had intended. With the two-year anniversary of the movie’s release approaching, there continues to be a major ongoing push for the release of the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, a goal that a growing number of the cast and crew have begun vocally supporting, with Jason Momoa even confirming to have seen Snyder’s version of the movie himself....

Apple Watch 2 is indeed imminent, according to reliable Apple analyst KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo. Although there have been a lack of leaks about the upcoming new Watch, KGI says the device will launch in late 2016 (likely announced alongside the iPhone 7 in September) and feature several flagship changes. The new Apple Watch will include a GPS, barometer, waterproofing beyond what is already touted with Apple Watch 1 as well as a new internal SoC for faster performance....

Kamcord, the Y Combinator-backed startup offering a free SDK that makes it easy for iOS devs to offer in-game recording functionality to their users, is today announcing an additional $1M in seed funding and some big updates since the last time we checked in. We spoke with CEO Matt Zitzmann about some new features coming to the service today and he also filled us in on the progress the company has made since rolling out a new voice overlay feature back in June....

Jumsoft has just released Book Palette 1.0 on the Mac App Store– a collection of templates and themes for Apple’s recently released iBooks Author platform. The first release of many to come includes 10 templates from business to cookbooks that all include customizable layouts, covers, chapter pages, tables of contents, glossary pages, and everything included in the iBooks author app. It looks like Apple isn’t going to have an issue with developers selling additional add-on content for iBooks Author through the Mac App Store....

It’s only a fortnight since Apple opened its 27th retail store in China, but there’s no sign of any let up in pace as the company heads towards its goal of 40 Apple Stores in China by October of next year. It has just added number 28 to its website, noting that the new store in Nanning will open on Saturday. The store will be located inside the upmarket MixC complex in the Qingxiu District....

As DC Comics fans are still clamoring for the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell has gone on record saying the idea of there being a cut of a film that doesn’t fit the director’s vision is a “nightmare.” Fans began to demand the Justice League Snyder cut shortly after the release of the movie in 2017, stating a general dissatisfaction with the final cut of the film made by Joss Whedon, who replaced Snyder as the director of the film during its production....

In a report today, reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his view on Apple’s product momentum heading into the holidays. Most importantly to Apple’s bottom line, Kuo sees better than expected demand for iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, apparently offsetting slightly–weaker sell-through of 12 and 12 mini. In terms of new products, Kuo indicates that form factor redesigns are coming to the Apple Watch and the MacBook lineup, in the second half of 2021....
