While the Epic Games trial against Apple is expected only for 2021, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has now denied a preliminary injunction to Epic regarding the Fornite ban from the App Store. That means Fortnite will remain banned from the App Store until the final decision of next year’s trial. That doesn’t come as a surprise since Judge Rogers had already said in August that she was inclined not to require Apple to allow Fortnite on the App Store again during the case....

Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt set out on an adventure together in the trailer for Disney’s movie adaptation of the Jungle Cruise theme park ride. The Mouse House scored an unexpected hit when it released Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl back in 2003, but its subsequent attempts to launch a franchise based on its popular theme park attractions haven’t panned out so well. The latest report from KGI suggests Apple will breakaway from the existing two phone strategy next year with another high-end tier. According to a new report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the much anticipated launch of Apple’s “iWatch” could be delayed into 2015. The app is called Oink and is available for both the iPhone and iPad and allows you to ‘rate and rank things around you’. Kuo points out that although Apple will now adopt Mini-LED displays for the new iPad Pro, other iPad models will switch to OLED displays, beginning with iPad Air next year. Mini-LED panels offer the same benefits as OLED, such as deeper blacks — since the backlighting is based on several small LEDs — but they don’t suffer from burn-in. However, as Mini-LED is a more expensive technology, Apple plans to bring OLED to the cheaper iPads, which includes the iPad Air and the entry-level iPad....

The company explained during this morning’s media event that the EarPods are three years in the making. Apple has yet to post the video of the full iPhone 5/iPod event, but now we get a look at a video played during the presentation. It features Jony Ive explaining the process of creating the new earbuds. In addition to the engineering process described by Ives above, Apple explained on its website that it tested over 100 prototypes to make the EarPods more durable and stable than its previous-generation earphones:
