Josh Gad and Cynthia Erivo are joining forces to give the classic American folk tale of “Rip Van Winkle” a makeover in the form of a movie musical film. Warner Bros has given the official greenlight to the untitled project, with the new spin being the brainchild of Gad - who’s set to produce - while Erivo has been cast as the star. “Rip Van Winkle” was a short story penned by Washington Irving in which the title character falls asleep in the mountains only to awaken years later to discover he missed the American Revolution and his life has been altered....

Gal Gadot has not seen the Snyder Cut of Justice League but hopes to one day. Justice League was released in theaters two years ago and is still one of the most talked-about movies of the DC Extended Universe. Justice League didn’t do well at the box office or with critics, partly because there were two directors that worked on the film. Zack Snyder was the original director, who unfortunately had to step aside after experiencing a family tragedy....

Zack Snyder recently revealed he has a cut of Justice League and it’s 214 minutes long, meaning, after you account for reshoots, there’s at least two-hours of unseen footage in the Snyder Cut - the equivalent to the entirety of the Joss Whedon theatrical cut’s runtime. When Joss Whedon was first brought in to replace Zack Snyder, the narrative pushed by Warner Bros. was he was simply completing the movie Zack Snyder set out to make with the addition of some reshoots to punch up dialogue and add connective tissue....

Reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has released a new forecast on the next generation Apple Watch. According to Kuo, the Apple Watch 3 will ship later this year with both LTE and non-LTE models offered. Kuo also expects the next Apple Watch will retain the same general design and not feature an obvious new form factor. Kuo specifies that the Apple Watch will continue to ship in two size configurations: 38mm and 42mm cases....

A strange report today claims that an Apple executive attempted to “physically” deter a Korean antitrust probe by an investor. It also alleges that the company hampered an investigation by the country’s official regulator. In a new interview posted in the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s Jony Ive and Hermes’ artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas discuss Apple’s first partnership with a luxury fashion brand to create branded Apple Watch models. To recap, on Wednesday, Apple announced Apple Watch Hermes, a collection of watches code signed with the renowned Paris designer. The watches will be available in October. Ive says the partnership is unprecedented and began before the Apple Watch was even announced to the public, breaking traditional Apple secrecy....

Thor: The Dark World actor Chris O’Dowd has been added to the cast of the Jordan Peele fronted CBS All Access revival of The Twilight Zone. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo at KGI securities is today reporting that they believe the iPhone 7 Plus will come with a dual-camera system option with Linx camera technology Apple acquired last year. By using two distinct lenses, Apple can use the additional image data to create substantially better quality photos. Dual camera iPhones have been rumored for a long time. KGI also floats the possibility that the Plus will feature an optical zoom, with 2-3x magnification....

Apple is said to be accelerating the product pipeline for new Mac laptops. Following the warm reception to the 16-inch MacBook Pro, reliable Ming-Chi Kuo now expects Apple to deliver new MacBook Air and new MacBook Pro models in the second quarter. Jordan Peele’s much-anticipated revival of The Twilight Zone has added Ginnifer Goodwin to the cast. The new series will be a follow-up to the original Twilight Zone that aired during the late ’50s and ’60s. Created and narrated by Rod Sterling, the original Twilight Zone took its audience on a journey of horror, suspense, and mystery with each episode featuring a unique standalone story. JP Morgan sees Apple’s tablet rivals cutting down on their build plans after “an early dose of reality”, as analyst Mark Moskowitz has put it.
