The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple’s May 4th motion for a California version of the Proview/iPad trademark case to be dismissed has been approved. The saga has been long-running, with Proview claiming that Apple illegally purchased the right to use the “iPad” trademark in China. Apple filed a request for the case dismisal when it reached the U.S. because they say it’s an issue relating solely to the iPad trademark in China....

Kantar is out today with its latest research covering the smartphone industry during the second quarter of 2018. According to the data, iOS saw a nearly 6 percent increase in market share thanks to continued strong sales of the iPhone 8 and iPhone X… In the United States, Apple’s smartphone marketshare was up 5.9 percent, giving the company a 38.7 percent share of the market. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus led the way, together combining to lead Apple’s sales and account for nearly one in five smartphones sold....

In anticipation of the new Re:Mind DLC, Kingdom Hearts 3 has released a new update 1.07. Contained within this update is fan-favorite Oblivion and Oathkeeper Keyblades. Obtaining these legendary Keyblades will require a bit of work for the player but the reward is well worth the effort due to the dual-wielding possibilities of the blades. Teased in the Re:Mind DLC trailer, the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades were originally thought to be added only by purchasing the new DLC....

If the Kohler Sensate sounds familiar, it’s because the line of faucets was first introduced back in 2013, bringing hands-free control with proximity sensors. With Alexa and HomeKit support, however, hands-free control is being taken to a whole new level. Essentially, you’ll be able to use your voice through Siri and Alexa to turn the water on and off, and give specific commands like “pour 64 ounces of water.” The faucet also measures water usage and makes that data easily accessible through iOS....

Isaacson rejected to turn-in his notes as evidence. His lawyers asked the District Attorney to rid of the subpoena two-weeks ago, citing the journalist Shield law. A judge then ruled that Isaacson does not have to turn-in his notes as evidence, reported Publishers Weekly. Interestingly, Isaacson’s lawyer noted his notes and recordings do not contain any talk about eBook pricing with Jobs. This is not the first time Isaacson’s work has been called into the courtroom....

New images from Jumanji: The Next Level confirm that Karen Gillan will finally wear trousers while tromping through the snow in the sequel. For those who’ve forgotten, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle drew criticism when its first-look image was unveiled, showing Gillan wearing a fairly skimpy outfit (alongside her comfortably dressed costars) for no apparent reason other than to objectify her. According to a press release, Proximo offers “a unique way to track multiple valuables with a last-seen map pin-drop feature, an active proximity dashboard and extended battery life on both its Fob and Tag.” In other words, similar to Kensington’s $99 BungeeAir released last fall, the system is a low-power wireless fob that sits in users’ pockets and sounds an alarm when they move too far away from their device....
