We may all know Kristen Stewart from the Twilight Saga, but honestly, this series gave her a bad rep. Her acting credit roll is pretty impressive. She’s been in several critically-acclaimed film, and we’re totally pro-Kristen. She’s versatile and brilliant, not to mention absolutely stunning. In case you live under a rock, the new Charlie’s Angels will be coming out in November, 2019. Kristen Stewart is a leading lady in this one, so we thought we’d make a list of her best films to get you ready for it. Spoiler: there’s no vampire films on this list. So, it’s time to cut your stigma and watch all these brilliant films with this wonderful woman.
Café Society (2016) - 71%
This Woody Allen film is most definitely underrated. This romantic comedy drama takes place in 1930s Hollywood. A young man from the Bronx (Jesse Eisenberg), moves to LA where he falls in love with a woman (Kristen Stewart). The catch, is that she’s seeing a married man. This movie also has Steve Carell, Sheryl Lee, and Paul Schackman. It’s a beautiful timepiece from this era, and who doesn’t love a good Woody Allen film? Of course, Jesse and Kristen are actually perfect for each other, and we love them both dearly. Tune in for a heartfelt and quirky ride. Seriously, you’re missing out on this original ’30s drama.
Panic Room (2002) - 75%
Kristen Stewart was much younger in this crime drama thriller. In fact, you might recognize some famous stars of this decade, including Jodie Foster and Forest Whitaker. This thriller classic follows a divorced woman and her diabetic daughter as they hide in the safe room of their new home, after three men break in. Foster and Stewart are the stars, and this movie will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. If you’re a Jodie Foster fanatic, or you love Kristen Stewart, we suggest this intense drama.
Zathura (2005) - 75%
This movie has all kinds of Jumanji vibes. Two young brothers are drawn into an intergalactic world after a board game sends them into space. Starring Josh Hutcherson, Dax Shepard, Jonah Bobo, Tim Robbins, and Kristen Stewart (and much younger versions thereof!), this family adventure film might’ve totally slipped from your radar. If you saw it ages ago, you might be excited, and confused, to hear that some of your favorite actors are in the mix. This movie is fun, and is full of comedy and action.
Camp X-Ray (2014) - 75%
This is definitely a different role for Kristen, proving once again how versatile she really is. She plays the lead in this film, a soldier who is assigned to Guantanamo Bay. On her journey, she befriends a man who has been captured and imprisoned there. This war drama did pretty well with the critics, and definitely gives a different take on war and prisoners thereof. It’s an interesting tale of gender, soldiers, and the military as a whole, plus, Kristen is always amazing, right?
Personal Shopper (2016) - 81%
If you call yourself a Kristen Stewart fan, you DEFINITELY have to see this movie, or we’re not sure you can. This mystery drama follows a personal shopper in Paris, who is trying to make contact with her twin brother. However, her brother has died, and her life becomes all the more interesting when she receives a mysterious text message. This movie is definitely interesting, and probably not like anything we’ve seen before. Plus, it’s Kristen at her best, so you can’t miss it.
Into the Wild (2007) - 83%
This classic novel film adaptation tells the story of a recent university grad, Christopher McCandless. He gives up his life, donates his money to charity, and hitchhikes to Alaska, where he lives in the wilderness. However, this character’s journey includes an assortment of interesting people along the way. This biography adventure is a classic, and did impressively well for an adaptation. Directed by Sean Penn, this movie stars Emile Hirsch, Vince Vaughn, Jena Malone, Catherina Keener, and the lovely Kristen Stewart. Seriously, this movie is entirely wholesome, and will fill all your adventure needs.
Still Alice (2014) - 85%
This movie stars Julianne Moore, who plays a linguistics professor. She is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, and her relationship with her family is tested to its very core. She co-stars alongside Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth, and Kristen Stewart (who plays her daughter). This drama is totally heart-wrenching, heartfelt, and a beautiful tale of an incredibly common illness. This movie will give you all the family feels, and we can’t deny this cast is incredible. Also, an 85% is definitely nothing to sneer at.
Adventureland (2009) - 88%
Jesse Eisenberg joins Kristen Stewart again in this one. This romantic comedy takes place in the summer of 1987. A college graduate begrudgingly takes a job at an amusement park, only to meet an incredible group of people and learn all the things he needs to make it in the real world. Starring alongside our main gal, this movie also has Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Ryan Reynolds, and many more. This movie is quirky, funny, and totally wholesome. You can’t resist this crew, we know it. Also - who doesn’t want a fun adventure in an amusement park?
Clouds of Sils Maria (2014) - 90%
This drama centers around a film star, who must come face-to-face with her life choices when she’s asked to star in the revival of the play that launched her career. Starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart takes the secondary role. This movie also includes Chloe Grace Moretz and Lars Eidinger. This movie includes a pretty dark personal story, including divorce, suicide, infidelity, and dark relationships. These characters are incredibly enthralling and dynamic, and clearly this movie blew away all critics.
Certain Women (2016) - 91%
This drama is all the women power you’ll ever need. Starring Laura Dern, Michelle Williams, and Kristen Stewart, these three women live in a small town, and their three lives begin to dramatically intertwine. From a hostage situation, marital issues and home-buying, and a budding relationship between a ranch hand and a lawyer, this movie clearly has everything you never knew you needed. These stories are diverse, complicated, and totally original. Plus, these women are all absolutely breathtaking, and this film is simultaneously gut-wrenching and wholesome. Also, can you really argue with a 91%?
