Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Kourtney Kardashian takes fans on a tour of the $100k playhouse that Scott built for their three children. The reality TV star explained that the kids’ space is 100 percent “technology-free.”
Kourtney is known for the wildly popular reality TV show on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, in which cameras follow around her, her mom Kris Jenner, and her four sisters - Kim Kardashian West, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner. Kourtney, who is the eldest of the Kardashian/Jenner sisters, has three children with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick - the star of Flip It like Disick. Kourtney and Scott share three children together over the course of their nine-year-long relationship, 9-year-old Mason Disick, 7-year-old Penelope Disick, and 4-year-old Reign Disick. The two parents have been co-parenting since their split in 2015. Scott decided to build their kids a playhouse and it reportedly cost $100,000 to build.
Kourtney allowed in Architectural Digest on Thursday, September 19, to show off the playhouse and give viewers a tour. The little wooden playhouse, sit in the backyard behind Kourtney’s home in Calabasas, California, is equipped with a loft area, and a bottom level with cozy white chairs, and a large white shag rug. The Keeping Up with the Kardashian star explained that she had been wanting to build a playhouse since her eldest child, Mason, was very little. She explained that “nine years later, Scott was like, ‘I’m taking this into my own hands and I’m building the kids a playhouse.’” Watch the full video of the tour below:
The adorable modern playhouse was built for her children to have a place away from the screens, she explained, “We made it a technology-free zone.” She went on to explain the rules, “There’s no iPads, phones, computers, video games, TVs - nothing is allowed inside.” The reality star explained that her three children will have to get creative while spending time in the playhouse, saying, “That’s why we have a lot of books.” She also explained that the space is “great for playing games” and “really just being imaginative.” She then showed all of the hand-me-down books that she’s placed in the playhouse that were from her childhood, such as Madeline, Jumanji, and The Little Prince. She explained that while Penelope and Reign seem to enjoy the space, separately, Mason stays away from it because of the no technology rule.
The clean lines, the white furniture, and the large windows bring the space a calm and peaceful space. It seems that the Keeping Up with the Kardashian star is encouraging her children to step away from the screens and spend more time playing and delving into stories in books. Fans can continue to watch Kourtney, Scott and their three children on this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
