Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian took their Thanksgiving to Japan. The megastar sisters traveled to the Asakusa District with their kids and Kim’s husband Kanye in tow. Kim and Kanye visited Tokyo with North and Saint this past summer, while Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe traveled to Japan nearly two years ago.
This time around, they visited teamLab Planets digital art museum, giving the kids the chance to partake in some impromptu animation. The trip was also the chance to engage in a little business. Kim met with journalism students at Monash University’s Tokyo Journalism Field School. Uncle Kanye even took Kourtney’s son Mason to shop for some fresh kicks and new clothes.
The Kardashians are known for their love of international travel. During their time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the family has traveled to Bali, Armenia, Iceland, Italy, and even France. They’ve always loved Japan, so the trip was a great opportunity to do some shopping and sightseeing. “Kourtney was taking pictures everywhere and really enjoying the scenery,” noted an eyewitness. “They all seem to love Tokyo and can’t get enough of the culture. The kids had a great time and they all loved their holiday there.”
Tokyo is Japan’s ultramodern capital city or prefecture. It boasts a number of temples and pristine country landscapes, as well as impressive high-rise buildings and a stunning skyline. Fashion, music, popular culture, animation, and Western influences are highly respected throughout Japan, making the Kardashians a perfect family to enjoy its offerings. Japan has played host to film productions like the 2003 hit Lost in Translation, as well as the HBO series, Girls. Kourtney Kardashian, with her minimalist and healthy lifestyle, fits in with the distinctive way of life that Tokyo has to offer. Kim and Kanye are also a great representation of Tokyo’s hip side, which celebrates trends and taste-makers.
International travel is a wonderful way to enrich the lives of small children. Much to their credit, Kim and Kourtney have been wonderful about showing Mason, Penelope, Reign, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm other cultures and also exposing them to different foods and ceremonies. Their children will have a more empathetic understanding of world issues as they grow older. Also, Japan is such a magical country. Its rich history and complex marriage of customs makes it a travel must-see. This past Thanksgiving saw most of the Kardashian and Jenners traveling to different places. Kylie, Kris, and Khloe were in Palm Springs with Travis Scott, while Caitlyn was abroad filming I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here. Still, it’s great to see that the eldest sisters chose to bond with each other, while gifting their kids with wonderful memories of a place far from home.
