Keanu Reeves made a fan’s dream come true after bringing her on the set of Bill & Ted Face the Music. The third installment in the Bill & Ted franchise went into production earlier this year and is set to release in theaters next summer. The franchise’s first film, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, came out in 1989 and followed two teens named Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Reeves) as they time travel through different historical time periods by means of a phone booth in order to pass their upcoming history report. Not only that, but they learn that their rock band, Wyld Stallyns, will change the future. So, passing the report is crucial to the formation of their band which will thereby change the world. The sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, followed a similar formula as its predecessor but involved the duo taking on the grim reaper instead of tracking down historical figures.
Needless to say, this franchise helped bring Reeves into the Hollywood spotlight. The actor also found success with Point Break and The Matrix franchise, but it wasn’t until these last couple of years that the actor skyrocketed to fame with the John Wick franchise. This year alone, the actor starred in that franchise’s third installment, had a hilarious cameo in Netflix’s Always Be My Maybe, is starring in CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, and even starred as Duke Caboom in Pixar’s incredibly successful Toy Story 4. It’s very likely that these roles could have been contributing factors in resurrecting Bill & Ted Face the Music from production limbo, but now that the film is officially underway, Reeves is elated to share it with fans.
According to Make-A-Wish New Jersey, a young girl named Emily’s wish came true when Keanu personally invited her to the set. Emily’s mom explained that Bill & Ted was one of her favorite movies and that she, “came across it one day and was instantly hooked.” Emily had developed an appreciation for Keanu, and knew that her greatest wish was to meet her favorite actor. After hearing this, Reeves and his team, “went to work to create the perfect wish experience.” He even hand-picked the scene that she could see. Check out some of the photos from her visit below:
Keanu’s kind and humble attitude is nothing new to fans of his. He’s always been very welcoming and open with others, even as he’s catapulted to become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors. Between being a part of such major franchises as John Wick or Toy Story, he never forgets where he started. Even his excitement for returning to his iconic role as Ted “Theodore” Logan in Bill & Ted Face the Music shows that fame hasn’t gone straight to his head.
Making Emily’s wish come true further proves that Reeves is one of the kindest souls in Hollywood. Knowing how much this young girl enjoyed his film, he was more than willing to make it happen. He genuinely enjoys what he does and how it affects people, and that attitude is infectious. This also shows that Reeves just enjoys the journey of being an actor and seems thrilled for what’s to come in the future.
