Kanye stands his ground. After making a remark to his wife, Kim Kardashian, on Keeping Up with the Kardashians about how sometimes it bothers him that she dresses so sexy. After people have jumped in and taken sides with either Kanye or Kim, he has hit back by saying that married men will agree with his criticism of his wife.
As Kim was preparing her sexiest outfit yet for the Met Gala on the October 13th episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, rapper Kanye told his wife of five years that he wasn’t comfortable with her ultra-sexy look. He told her that he was uncomfortable with the fact that the Thiery Mugler dress and corset was basically underwear and questioned why she felt like she needed to look hot for other men. However, the reality TV star stood her ground saying that she would be wearing the sexy gown to the Met Gala as it took her and her team eight months to create. Now fans and celebrities alike are weighing in and taking sides of the argument. Recently, The Bachelorette’s heartthrob Tyler Cameron said that he’s on the side of Kim saying that women have a right to be sexy.
Ahead of the release of Kanye’s new album, Jesus Is King, the rapper sat down for a lengthy interview with Beat’s 1 Zane Lowe on Apple Music and opened up about everything from spirituality to his past sex addiction. The rapper even addressed the comments he made about Kim’s Met Gala look being “too sexy.” The 42-year-old discussed his concerns he has with social media and how it aligns with his newly found Christian faith. He said, “I suffer and I appreciate the suffering because we can feel a little bit of what Jesus experienced, but I suffer on social media.” Kanye explained that he thinks other married men may have the same sentiments, saying, “There are other married men that I know are happy to hear me say that.”
The rapper then explained what it’s about social media that bothers him the most, saying, “Social media prompts women, in particular, to put out content that they wouldn’t in the past.” He explained that since times have changed since the creation of the internet, things are a lot different since he was growing up. He said, “When I was younger and I wanted to see something like that I had to pay someone who was older … Now I have friends who have kids in high school and it’s readily available.”
Though Kanye sparked quite the controversy with a very private dispute with his wife that was made public thanks to reality television, he doesn’t take any of it back. The rapper, who is no stranger to receiving backlash for his strong opinions, seems very content with his beliefs. Though Kanye’s obvious distain for social media might be a bit confusing since his wife and the mother of his four children is quite possibly the queen of Instagram. It remains to be seen if Kanye will have a big change on Kim’s social media postings in the future, but for now it looks like Kim continues to do what she wants regardless of her husbands complaints.
