With the current explosion of interest in the Snyder Cut of Justice League getting hotter by the day, screenwriter Chris Terrio is the latest person involved with the film to offer his thoughts on the matter. Following Zack Snyder’s departure from the movie due to a family tragedy, Justice League went through reshoots which veered the movie far off-course from what the director had intended. A grassroots campaign would subsequently emerge aimed at convincing Warner Bros. to release Snyder’s cut of the DC ensemble, and the past few weeks have seen the endeavor take on a whole new level of public prominence.

The ongoing surge of media attention the issue has received arguably began with a series of interviews with Jesse Eisenberg, Junkie XL, and Jason Momoa, who each revealed new information on Snyder’s cut. These would soon be followed by a renewed wave of cast and crew members jumping into the mix, ranging from aerial second unit director Clay Staub describing the Snyder Cut as the “real version of Justice League” on Twitter to everyone from Cyborg actor Ray Fisher to storyboard artist Jay Oliva dropping new images and concept art on social media. All of that is without even getting into the increasingly overt Snyder Cut teases Zack Snyder himself keeps released on Vero as recently as today.

Chris Terrio’s comments on the Snyder Cut came during an interview with BirthMoviesDeath (via Reel Anarchy) regarding his work as screenwriter on the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. For his part, Terrio was somewhat elusive when asked about Snyder’s cut of Justice League and confirmed he has not seen it himself, stating, “I have seen my script version of what might have been in [The Snyder Cut], but I have not seen the cut.” When asked about the existence of the Snyder Cut itself, Terrio commented “That is the right question! And the one that has never been satisfactorily answered." He went on, saying, “I imagine that it probably exists somewhere, but they’ve never shown it to me and they’ve never told me.” 

While Jason Momoa has vocally supported release of the Snyder Cut (which he’s confirmed to have seen) Terrio’s comments are comparatively non-committal. Nevertheless, their emergence in the early days of press for The Rise of Skywalker offers further indication the situation around Justice League has transitioned to a point where anyone involved with the movie is now being directly asked about Snyder’s original version. The Justice League screenwriter has stayed diplomatic on the issue, saying, “I’m waiting for the invitation to some underground theater someday,” while describing himself as “a little bit out of the loop there.” 

The two-year anniversary of Justice League’s theatrical release arrives on Sunday, and Zack Snyder has spent much of the week dropping one bomb after another on social media. The push for the Snyder Cut’s release is clearly gaining huge momentum, and all of the cast and crew members jumping into the fray is only making the noise that much louder. What the ultimate result of the current onslaught of interest in the Justice League Snyder Cut will be is still an open-ended proposition, but it’s obvious at this point the cries for its release are rapidly becoming deafening.
