The number of Justice League cast and crew members giving their support to the movie’s legendary “Snyder Cut” continues to grow, with even cut actors weighing in. In the wake of a family tragedy, Zack Snyder departed from the director’s chair on Justice League, with the movie being taken far off course from his intended vision with its significant reshoots. Nearly two years on from the film’s theatrical debut, the push for the Snyder Cut is swiftly growing into more of a mainstream topic, with a series of recent interviews with Jesse Eisenberg, Junkie XL, and Jason Momoa giving it a major spike in attention.

By now, it is clear the campaign for the Snyder Cut has passed a major juncture. While the very existence of Snyder’s version of Justice League has previously been the subject of significant debate, the situation has now transitioned to a point where even many detractors of Snyder’s DC films are eager to see it. What’s more, the demand has also been fed by recent social media teases by Snyder, Jason Momoa, and storyboard artist Jay Oliva. Following Snyder releasing a new image of Barry Allen and Iris West from his cut of the movie, Jason Momoa threw gasoline on the fire with an image Aquaman impaling Steppenwolf in the film’s climactic battle. This was soon followed up by Jay Oliva releasing an image of Superman punching Steppenwolf, effectively confirming Snyder’s comment on Vero regarding Momoa’s image, “You would need a super punch to get him all the way over to Diana.”

Joining the chorus of people directly involved with Justice League advocating for the Snyder Cut’s release, Ray Porter openly tweeted his open support for Snyder’s version of the movie earlier today. News of Porter’s casting as Darkseid in Justice League broke earlier this year from the Film Exiles Podcast. Following the revelation of Porter’s casting, Snyder himself has given a subtle but noticeable nod to Porter’s involvement in the film, likely owing to NDAs. Porter had also previously given fans a small tease of his voice as Darkseid at this past summer’s Project Comic Con, which endeavored to spread awareness of the existence of the Snyder Cut at the 2019 San Diego Comic Con.

The ending of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice seemingly offered clear indications of Darkseid’s presence in Justice League, with Lex Luthor eerily intoning “He’s hungry, he’s found us, and he’s coming!” However, Darkseid was ultimately omitted from the theatrical cut of the movie altogether, only being referenced once by Steppenwolf’s proclamation “For the Unity! For Darkseid!”

For the Snyder Cut to see the light of day, the greenlight for its release must first be given by Warner Bros. However, it is now becoming more clear on an almost daily basis that demand for it is steadily growing. Jason Momoa in particular has been very outspoken in his support, while also confirming to have watched the Snyder Cut himself. With Darkseid as DC’s utmost force of evil, his presence in the Snyder Cut, along with Ray Porter’s support for it, is one of many factors driving the push for it to be released. Ultimately, Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League is a topic that Warner Bros. will likely need to publicly address soon, with both public awareness and support for its release clearly accelerating.
