The Jumanji: The Next Level cast is filled with top-tier actors and actresses, some of whom appeared in the last film and some who are new to the franchise. The third Jumanji movie is directed by Jake Kasdan and takes fan-favorite characters on another rip-roaring adventure in Jumanji as they face unknown dangers to rescue a friend.
The popular franchise is based on the two books, Jumanji and Zathura, which was written by award-winning children’s book author Chris Van Allsburg. These highly imaginative classics resulted in the creation of the films Jumanji (1995), Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and now Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). But the latter two movies have taken on a life of their own by leaving the books behind.
Key members of the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle cast have returned for Jumanji: The Next Level along with some new additions this time around. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are on board to make this the best installment yet. Here’s everyone on the Jumanji: The Next Level cast.
Jumanji: The Next Level’s Main Cast
Dwayne Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone: Dr. Smolder Bravestone is Eddie’s avatar who is an archaeologist and the team leader. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is known for starring in numerous franchises and blockbuster movies, namely Fast & Furious. He’s also appeared in Rampage, San Andreas, Moana, and more.
Karen Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse: Ruby Roundhouse is Martha’s avatar and a highly skilled commando. Karen Gillan rose to stardom by playing Amy Pond in Doctor Who and has since then starred as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Jack Black as Professor Sheldon “Shelly” Oberon: Professor Oberon is Fridge’s avatar at first (and later Bethany’s) who specializes in paleontology, archaeology, cartography, and cryptography. Jack Black has starred in popular films such as School of Rock in which he portrayed Dewey Finn, Nacho Libre as the titular character, the animated miniseries Tenacious D: Post-Apocalypto as JB, and more. He also voiced Po in the Kung-Fu Panda series.
Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar: Franklin Finbar is Milo’s avatar who is a zoologist and linguistics and weapons specialist. Kevin Hart has starred in roles as Dell in The Upside, Ben Barber in Ride Along, and Dante Slate Jr. in Grudge Match. In addition to his movie roles, Hart is an accomplished stand-up comedian.
Jumanji: The Next Level’s Supporting Cast
Nick Jonas as Jefferson “Seaplane” McDonough: Seaplane McGonough is Spencer’s new avatar and a young pilot. Nick Jonas is best known for being apart of the Jonas Brothers band and featuring as Nate Kulina in the TV series Kingdom as well as Midway.
Awkwafina as Ming Fleetfoot: Ming Fleetfoot is a new avatar and first-rate burglar. Awkwafina is a Golden Globe nominee known for roles as Constance and Peik Lin Goh in the hit films Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians, respectively. She recently portrayed Billi in The Farewell.
Ser’Darius Blain as Anthony “Fridge” Johnson: Fridge is one of the kids who got sucked into Jumanji in Welcome to the Jungle. Ser’Darius Blain appears in the hit TV Series reboot Charmed as Galvin Burdette and starred as Cam Colvin in When the Game Stands Tall.
Morgan Turner as Martha Kaply: Martha is another kid from Welcome to the Jungle and one of Spencer’s friends. Morgan Turner has featured in films such as Wonder Struck, in which she played Janet, as well as Veda Pierce in the miniseries Mildred Pierce.
Alex Wolff as Spencer Gilpin: Spencer is the main non-gaming character, and he rebuilt pieces of the game and reentered its world. Alex Wolff has appeared in such films as Hereditary and Coming Through the Rye. He also starred in The Naked Brothers Band alongside his brother, Nat Wolff.
Madison Iseman as Bethany Walker: Bethany is the fourth kid from Welcome to the Jungle who was sucked into Jumanji along with Spencer, Martha, and Fridge. Madison Iseman recently appeared in the horror film Annabelle Comes Home as Mary Ellen.
Danny DeVito as Eddie Gilpin: Eddie Gilpin is Spencer’s grandfather. Danny Devito is an acting veteran known for classics such as Matilda, Batman Returns, Twins, Get Shorty, and so much more. He currently stars in the TV series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Danny Glover as Milo Walker: Milo Walker is is Eddie’s friend. Danny Glover is best known for the popular franchise Lethal Weapon, in which he played Roger Murtaugh, and has currently starred in The Last Black Man in San Francisco as Grandpa Allen. He’s also appeared in Predator 2, Silverado, and more.
Colin Hanks as Alex Vreeke: Alex was the first person to get stuck in Jumanji in Welcome to the Jungle but was rescued by the kids and returned to the 1990s. Colin Hanks has appeared in several films, such as King Kong and Orange County, but is perhaps best known for his TV roles in series such as Band of Brothers, Fargo, and The Good Guys.
