Stars of the upcoming film Jumanji: The Next Level Danny DeVito and The Rock recently crashed a wedding in Mexico, going as far as to sing a duet to the happy couple. Early reviews of the Jumanji sequel have proven promising for the film’s stars, which also include Kevin Hart and Karen Gillian, as well as the actor/musician Jack Black and Lethal Weapon star Danny Glover.
Although Jumanji: The Next Level’s video game tie-in was less than stellar, fans of the first film in the Jumanji reboot universe have been looking forward to the upcoming sequel’s release date on December 13th, 2019. It certainly seems like the cast is having a good time, since from behind-the-scenes videos from Jack Black’s Jablinsky Games YouTube channel to The Rock’s Instagram everyone appears to be having a very enjoyable experience while shooting Jumanji: The Next Level, something which will hopefully translate to the silver screen once it releases.
Speaking of The Rock’s Instagram, Dwayne Johnson recently posted a video which showed him and fellow Jumanji co-star Danny DeVito crashing a wedding and serenading the bride and groom, along with all of the other guests in attendance, with a duet. According to Johnson, the idea to do so was a spur of the moment one, but he has absolutely no regrets, and the entire evening was truly “Unforgettable” for everyone involved.
According to the post which accompanied the video, Johnson and DeVito were drinking tequila together in Mexico after a long week of working the Jumanji press junket when they simply had the idea to crash a wedding which was happening nearby. According to Johnson’s post, the ceremony was “actually quite beautiful” and he praised the amount of good vibes surrounding the bride and groom, saying “The love and mana in that room surrounding the wedding couple was so strong.”
It’s nice to see actors working together and also getting along, and it’s even nicer when they use their celebrity and fame to brighten up other people’s days. The couple who got married in Mexico will never forget the night Danny DeVito and The Rock serenaded them as if it was some sort of live-action reboot of Twins, and stories like these only add more fuel to the argument Jumanji: The Next Level’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the nicest people currently in Hollywood. Those people should just be thankful it wasn’t Charlie Day who was out drinking with DeVito that night, or there would have been a much different type of song.
