John Wick has established himself as one of the toughest characters in cinema, and not anyone would go up against him – but there’s also Beatrix Kiddo a.k.a. The Bride, from Kill Bill, whose abilities are on a par with Wick’s. So, who would win in a fight between John Wick and The Bride? Directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch (though only Stahelski is credited), John Wick arrived in 2014 and introduced the world to one of the deadliest hitmen in cinema. Played by Keanu Reeves, John Wick went after the men who broke into his home, stole his car, knocked him unconscious, and killed his dog – and he showed no mercy.
Back in 2003, Quentin Tarantino decided to make his own martial arts film and so Kill Bill: Volume 1 happened. The film followed Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride (Uma Thurman) who swore revenge on her former colleagues from the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad after they tried to kill her and her unborn child. The Bride’s revenge continued in Kill Bill: Volume 2, where she finally managed to do what the title of the film says – but not before killing the rest of the squad and anyone else who got on the way of her personal mission.
Both John Wick and the Bride are very skilled in different styles of combat, can use various weapons, and are mostly driven by revenge and anger, so if there could ever be a battle between these two, who would win?
John Wick vs. The Bride: Why Beatrix Kiddo Would Win
The Bride, also known as Black Mamba, was shot in the head at her marriage rehearsal after the squad killed her fiancé and everyone else, putting her into a four-year coma. Once she woke up, she plotted her vengeance against Bill and the squad, killing them one by one. The Bride is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, is well-versed in the use of single-edge weapons (and can also fight with two swords), knows how to use a handgun, is a fast-thinker, and her endurance and stamina are remarkable. In addition to all that, she can perform the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique, which she used on Bill.
John Wick knows his way around a variety of rifles, shotguns, and more, and can eliminate targets from a long distance. Wick is trained in various martial arts (judo, jiu-jitsu, krav maga, and more), is highly skilled in the use of knives (and can pretty much use any other object to defend himself), and is a brilliant tactician. Of course, none of them is immortal nor is safe from serious injuries, and both have had their bad experiences with bullets, but if they were to fight each other, the Bride would most likely be the winner. As mentioned above, the Bride was in a coma for years, and it took her less than 24 hours to regain full mobility of her muscles. She also displayed quicker and stronger hits after the coma, which give her a big advantage.
That doesn’t mean that John Wick is an easy opponent. The fight would probably be a long one as they are both trained combatants, and unless Wick can get a hold of a gun, the Bride would surely end up as the winner (and, hopefully, she wouldn’t have to use the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique). This crossover will only happen in the imagination of John Wick and Kill Bill fans, but it’s interesting and entertaining to think about what would happen in a fight between them – and if there would be weapons involved or just fists and kicks.
