Starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, the man who becomes the Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham City, Joker is unlike any other comic book movie before it, sharing more DNA with the works of Martin Scorsese than it does DC Comics. Phoenix is rightly being hailed for his performance, which isn’t only one of the best versions of the Joker committed to screen, but is also likely to land him an Oscar nomination....

Pictures’ upcoming film slate for 2017 includes more shared universe installments (not all of them of the DC superhero variety), as well as a potential franchise starter in the form of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Korean news site MK Business News (via Reuters) is reporting that Samsung will make 75% of the A9 chip for the next iPhone. This matches an earlier detailed prediction by KGI Research, which stated that the balance of the chips would be made by Global Foundry, and is in line with a statement by Samsung which last year confirmed it as a major supplier of the new chip. Now, hopefully, even better filmmakers (with more original taste and ideas) can attempt their own one-off superhero films....
