We’ve written about former Apple employee Wayne Goodrich before. Back in 2012 he launched a lawsuit against Apple claiming that co-founder Steve Jobs told him in 2005 he’d be guaranteed a job for life at the company. A federal judge has ruled that Apple has to face a lawsuit accusing the company of hiding the fact that iPhone demand in China was declining, leading to “tens of billions of dollars in shareholder losses.” The specific focus is on the comments made by Apple CEO Tim Cook during Apple’s fiscal Q4 2018 earnings call, Reuters reports. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is out this evening with a new investor note covering early order estimates of Samsung’s Galaxy S10. The analyst is increasing his Galaxy S10 shipment estimate by 30 percent citing ‘spec differentiation’ from current iPhones, including an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Kuo says that he is increasing shipping estimates of the Galaxy S10 series from between 30 million and 35 million to between 40 million and 45 million. He outlines three reasons for this: the market’s view on high-end smartphone sales, spec differentiation from iPhone models, trade-in programs, and strong demand in China....

Joker director Todd Phillips gave new insight into Joaquin Phoenix’s improvisational acting style, which resulted in some of the movie’s most memorable scenes as well as a truly “insane” deleted scene. Joker recently became the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever, beating out Deadpool for the honors. The movie was critically acclaimed for its unique approach to the superhero genre, eschewing set pieces and fight scenes for an intimate character study. The class-action lawsuit against Apple over alleged anticompetitive behavior in how the iPod handled songs from third-party much stores is finally in the hands of a jury. Following last week’s final witness testimony, the jury has started deliberations in the decade-old case. The evidence and testimony in this case have given us quite a bit of insight into the way Apple operated ten years ago with regards to its iPod and iTunes business....

Jussie Smollett has been officially removed from Empire’s remaining season 5 episodes. On February 20, the actor was charged with felony disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false report about a January 29 attack in Chicago. Since 2015, Smollett has appeared as Jamal Lyon on Fox’s musical drama. The character’s sexuality is a main storyline in season 1, and Smollett clarified his own sexuality during a March 2015 interview with Ellen DeGeneres....
